Hi mama!🥰
It’s Lola here, with all things motherhood and parenting, to aid your wonderful journey.
How are you, mama? With the kids in school, we can all agree it’s a breath of fresh air. For now, though! Before you realize it, they’ll bombard you with mathematics homework. Well, welcome to September!🥲
As usual, every Wednesday, I bring you exclusive offers, exciting events to look forward to and general tips and tricks for navigating motherhood. Let’s dive in!🏃♀️
Apple Cider Vinegar: Is It Safe For A Nursing Mother?
Apple cider vinegar is a holistic household staple. It is a salad dressing, an antibacterial for skin-related issues, and a food preservative. Apple cider vinegar has amazing benefits, such as stabilizing blood sugar and aiding weight loss.
However, can breastfeeding mothers consume apple cider vinegar?
Breastfeeding mothers can take apple cider vinegar in moderation due to its acidity. The ideal dosage is 1 to 2 teaspoons daily to prevent decreased potassium levels, amongst other symptoms.
It is still under research if it affects the taste and quality of breastmilk due to the acid content. As such, safety should be paramount during consumption.
Palm Wine In Pregnancy: Is A Little Too Much?
In Nigeria, palm wine is a fresh alcoholic drink derived from the raffia palm tree. Its taste depends on the type of tree and amount of days under fermentation.
Drinking palm wine during pregnancy is generally unsafe, no matter the quantity. Palm wine is alcoholic, and like other alcoholic drinks, it causes preterm labour and miscarriage in early pregnancy, especially in first-time pregnancies.
The high sugar content in palm wine may expose your growing baby to a high glucose content unsuitable for foetal growth. Opt for natural fruit drinks and beverages to suit your cravings.
